Located about 40km in the South of Hanoi, Phung Xa village is just a beautiful place like a picture of Feng Shui with the charming of Day River. It is a typical peaceful Vietnamese hometown with bamboo tree clusters, tiled roof houses, the hibiscus flower fences or the brick walls which have been there for ages. The whole village may be filled with the sounds of textile machines, a unique remark of Phung Xa village, which may remind people of their beloved hometown.
With white cotton fibers as materials, skillful hands and creativity, Phung Xa villagers have produced a wide range types of cloths with various designs, colors and sizes, from napkins, facial towels to bathing towels and sold them in both local and international markets. The process of producing Phung Xa cloths has gone through 5 stages, spinning, weaving, bleaching and coloring, edge finishing, and finally pattern inkjet printing. It is a process of both manual work and machinery.
Almost 100% of the households in Phung Xa have been producing cloths/towels nowadays, contributing to at least 3,000 labors every year. Such business of Phung Xa has been well developed and can create 9,000 jobs for people in the 2 towns of the village (Thuong - Upstream and Ha - Downstream) and also for people in other places. At present, Phung Xa towels have been sold locally and exported to 6 countries as China, America, Japan, Czech Republic, Korea and mostly to Taiwan.
