Vietcraft and its members will participate in the New York Now Gift Fair in August this year. Participants will be supported by the national trade promotion program.
Among the export markets of handicrafts, the United States is the largest import market with annual import turnover of nearly USD 750 million, accounting for 38% of the total export turnover of Vietnam. The most imported items are rattan and bamboo products, ceramics, lacquerware, textiles, and apparel. Although the US import turnover is big, the market share of Vietnamese handicrafts in the US has not reached 1% and the potential for expansion is enormous.
Many big and small trade fairs are held all over the country each year. The most famous and biggest of all are the NY Now and the Atlanta Gift Fair.
The NY NOW (New York International Gift Fair) - the largest fair in the United States for gifts, handicrafts and home decorations is held twice a year in February and August at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. The exhibition area is 611,405 sqft (about 5.7 hectares) with more than 2,900 exhibitors and nearly 45,000 visitors. Most of the visitors who came to the fair were most interested in the quality and designs of the product without paying much attention to the price. Therefore, 98% of importers placed their orders after examining the products. This is a good environment to promote, seek customers, create business relationships for Vietnamese enterprises. Attending the NY NOW will give Vietnamese enterprises the opportunity to expand their business and build trust for international importers.
