Pursuant to Decision 2277/QD-BNN-VPDP of Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the guidance on information-collecting toolkit at district level to develop the scheme of "One commune, one product" (OCOP) program of Thua Thien Hue province in 2017 - 2020 period, Thua Thien Hue Department of Agriculture and Rural Development implemented OCOP program.
Within 2017 - 2020 period and with the
orientation to 2030, OCOP program is implemented in 63 provinces, cities across
the country. Of all, rural areas and especially communes are the organizing
units. The program is aimed to create many high quality, distinctive products
in each region to align with domestic consumption and export demand; develop
business and production models to increase community benefit as well as
contribute to rural economic development towards endogenous and value-added
development.
The subjects of this program are local
products and services; adapted products and services; products developed on the
basis of exploiting competitive advantages in terms of ecological condition,
local genre source, knowledge and technology in particular. In addition,
individual and collective economy work as implementation core on the basis of
03 following regulations, local actions towards the globe; self-reliance,
self-confidence and creativity; human resource training. OCOP program focuses
on developing products and services in 6 groups: food, beverage, herb, fabric
and garment, souvenir - interior - decoration, rural tourism service and sale.
According to Mr. Ho Vang, Vice Director of
Thua Thien Hue Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, provincial
agriculture sector will coordinate with districts, towns and cities to carry
out planning and information-collecting activities to adequately assess product
status, technology level, capital and labor related to product of each
locality; establish list of key products, local strengths and factors affecting
product's manufacture to develop the scheme of OCOP program of Thua Thien Hue
province in 2017 - 2020 period.
